Our Academic Programs
Year-Round Programs

Throughout the school year, we offer various academic programs during and after school hours. In the course of the day, we offer instructional programs that could replace the child's regular education, and can build our daily program to suit the needs of every child. Academic sessions are offered several times per week to either enrich and accelerate the child's education or to help the child in skills that need strengthening. Depending on the academic level of the student and how much extra attention is deemed necessary, sessions can occur two or more times a week. For students who seek only enrichment and acceleration, or who do not need intensive instruction, twice a week might suffice. For remedial students, we may offer rigorous two-hour sessions, meeting several times a week to strengthen specific skills in which the student may need help. We also offer courses at set hours per week over a number a months.

KPLC LogoSummer Program

We also offer a summer program with the three goals of remediating students who may have failed a course, enriching students in subject areas in which they are not strong, or teaching them new knowledge to further accelerate them in the educational system. We offer programs to suit younger children who need help in general areas of Math and English, and more specific courses to suit the needs of older students attending middle school and high school. We offer classes of various Mathematics from Algebra I to Calculus, SAT I preparation, English, Foreign Languages, and such Science classes as Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. During the summer, students have the choice of taking a class for school credit or just for enrichment for the coming school year.

Home Schooling

Inspire the best in your child with the best in home schooling. How can Kendall Park Learning Center make this promise to your family? We do this by offering an on-site or distance-learning home instruction program that gives your child/children the same educational advantages enjoyed by the students who attend private preparatory school. KPLC's mission is to inspire students to excel academically and to realize their own self-worth.

Homework & Study Club

Our after school Homework & Study Club program consists mostly of one-hour sessions, set to tutor children either in their weaker subject areas or to enhance their academic performance by supplementing their education program. These hour-long sessions are built with the intention of helping the children with homework, preparing for exams in school, and preparing them for future lessons to be explained within the next week at school. The after-school program has a purpose of strengthening what the student already knows or is currently learning. Students would commonly meet with their teachers for a tutoring session once a week, but more sessions per week to strengthen the student's ability may also be suggested.

College Guidance & SAT Preparation

College Guidance is a vital part of our academic program. We begin with students as early as 6th grade. Our students excel on the SAT I & II tests, mainly because of our unique approach to test preparation. The average combined score of our students is 1380. Many of our graduates attain perfect scores in either verbal or math, or in both.

Gifted & Talented Programs

The gifted program is open to children in kindergarten through grade eight. All materials used are above grade level, which encourage students to think critically and achieve a higher level of learning. The KPLC believes that children are turned on to learning and become excited and highly motivated learners when they are challenged. The elementary and middle school years are the time for exploration and discovery for children. As educators, we need to understand that the minds of children are like sponges, open and willing to absorb whatever is presented to them. Our ability to know each child helps us to guide them into their specific area of interest.

English and Reading Proficiency for International Students

This program is designed specifically for international students who wish to study English at an American school. Balancing academic classroom work with cultural enrichment, the program offers students an ideal environment in which to improve their English language, reading, vocabulary, and writing skills while learning more about the history of the United States and American customs and society. This program is for students ages 13 to 18.
